The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.We are seeking a professional like you to support the daily operation of Automotive Catalyst slurry preparations and Coating at the Huntsville site. Your focus will be supporting New Product Launch into manufacturing. Once new product launch, then optimize process parameters with first three production lots, and minimize setup time and scrap. You will lead various Continuous Improvement projects at site to improve overall productivity, improve quality, reducing process losses and scrap reduction.As a New Product Launch Engineer you create chemistry by…Own New Product Launch Process Lead creation of all necessary documentation for new product launches with new technologies Create coater recipes for new part numbers during PPAP (production part approval process) Conduct Production Trial runs with raw material changes, substrates changes, production process changes and new equipment validations SOS/BOM/Recipes generation Managing raw materials changes Add all necessary data in QMS (Quality Management System) for scale-up projects, and ISP (Initial Serial Production) approvals Support operations on departmental Key Performance Indicators Support first three production lots for new part numbers and resolve all open issues. Support special projects implementation. Manage various data system Special projects related to safety, productivity, 5s, lean manufacturing, visual managementQualifications – BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalentYour formula for success…BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field preferred Experience in Process Engineering at Chemical/Manufacturing site preferred Ability to identify problems and opportunities in the related areas and define, structure, plan, and implement improvement projects to satisfy site, business group, and corporate objectives preferred Technical competency with MS Office tools. Experience with SQL, PowerBI and Minitab a plus Knowledge of/familiarity with quality systems required, IATF 16949 automotive experience a plus.
