The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.We are seeking a professional like you who will be responsible for the leadership, management, quality, safety, strategy, and production efficiency of the Heavy-Duty Slurry Preparation and Catalyst Coating departments of the Huntsville site. The HD Facility produces Diesel catalysts, primarily for the US heavy duty market. The Production team consists of over 100 people including Specialists, Supervisors and hourly staff across a four-shift 24/7 operation.As an Operations Manager, you create chemistry by…Effectively leading the HD Coating Department through an operational excellence journey and tactical plan that delivers the best products to our customers and profitability to the company. In addition, you will provide strong EHS leadership to your direct team, as well as the Huntsville site overall. As a trusted people leader, you will build a high-performance team by role modeling, coaching, and developing personnel that exemplify the culture and behaviors aspired to by BASF and the Huntsville site. This includes identifying training needs of the production team and leveraging Learning and Development resources within the organization to provide necessary training opportunities. Your dedication to EHS Excellence will show as you champion risk exposure reduction activities and setting zero injury and zero loss of containment mindsets. Successfully engaging across the site, you will create and sustain strong relationships with all levels from senior management to the shop floor. You will identify synergies and best practices to enable the strong performance of the Coatings department. Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will monitor/control variable and fixed cost spending budget and capital spending as well as manage capacity for HD Production Department. Strong EHS leadership to your direct team, as well as the Huntsville site overall. You will also provide peer leadership that coordinates support to keep the production lines running safely and efficiently.Qualifications – BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalentFormula for Success…Educational degree in Engineering Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma will be a plus as you champion new ideas to foster timeliness of product manufacturing to meet order demand, product quality, and cost constraints.
