Come join us on our journey to create solutions for a sustainable future!Where the Chemistry Happens…DOT-FAA Quality Inspector I – 2000469- Huntsville, ALAt the BASF Huntsville Plant (CCN), we make the chemistry and technology used in stationary emissions catalysts and aircraft ozone convertors. As part of our team, employees help us conceive, design, implement and validate new equipment, technologies and processes to help make our world's environment cleaner. Our Quality Control Department plays a vital role in the success of our plant. This position contributes by performing visual and physical testing requirements of raw materials, in process, and final products. This position also holds specific knowledge of specifications, procedures, and drawings to assure product meets all internal and customer requirements.Principal Responsibilities • Conduct efficiency testing of ozone converters. • Inspect and/or measure quality parameters via approved measurement techniques including CMM, calipers, eight gauges, etc. • Interpret drawings, procedures, and specifications. • Pull representative samples based on established and approved sampling plans. • Perform in process, final product and rework inspections including visual and physical testing. • Create and maintain files for inspection reports, nonconforming materials reports. • Control of nonconforming material. • Serve as a contact for internal auditing process and help develop corrective actions related to team quality systems. • Write, read and understand technical documentation including policies, procedures • Understanding of work instructions. • Coordinated work activities through use of processing and shipping forecast. • Record and plot data. • Alert to and follow all safety rules and procedures.Work environment/Physical demands • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; as well as talk and hear. • The employee is regularly required to document test results via hand written and keyboard entries. • The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
